The entertainment field has always formed the backbone of both my legal practice and my business ventures.  This dual background has put me in the unique position of being able to offer clients a more holistic approach to working on their entertainment projects.  From option to opening night, and beyond, theater has always been the main focus of our entertainment practice.  Broadway, Off and Off-Off Broadway, Not-for-Profits, I have participated in virtually every facet of production whether as counsel, producer, or even stage manager.  I know intimately and intuitively what a client’s needs are whether they are the producer or the artist.  Some of the many productions I have been counsel for are: Dame Edna, the Royal Tour; Here Lies Jenny (with, Bebe Neuwirth); The Beauty Queen of Leenane; Collected Stories (with, Ute Hagen); JOY; Infertility, the Musical That’s Hard to Conceive; Grace and Glory; and The Boys in the Band.  My resume under the Profile section gives a more complete list of projects and entertainment activities.

More often than not, the lines are blurred between the various entertainment areas.  Many clients have projects, or a need for services, which cut across a wide range businesses and issues; from theater to film, music licensing or literary publication, the firm offers a full service approach with the ability to handle an individual project or agreement, on through to, what I refer to as, the “hyphenate client”.  By hyphenate client, the best example I can offer is, Rupert Holmes (click to see his website) who I have represented for more than a decade.  Rupert is the Tony¨ Award winning, composer, lyricist and bookwriter of, The Mystery of Edwin Drood; Emmy Award winning creator, writer and director of, Remember WENN; murder mystery novelist, Where the Truth Lies (film with Kevin Bacon and Colin Firth), and Swing; and pop composer (Escape – The Pi–a Colada Song).  This diversity typifies matters which we handle on a daily basis.

Some of the graphics on this page represent past or current clients and projects that the firm has been involved with.  Get Tiny is one unusual project designed to help combat obesity in this country, and, in one 810lb. man, with the goal, through proper exercise and better nutrition, to get Tiny to the Olympics as he tours, lectures and morphs into a reality TV show while working to accomplish his goals.  Click on, Infertility, The Musical That’s Hard to Conceive, and discover a world that goes beyond just lyrics to just another musical.  Truly, if you can think of it, (and get your financing), we can put in place the legal apparatus so you can produce it, perform it or distribute it to the world!
